Many rock and metal icons have put their spin on the Star-Spangled Banner over the years. Austin Carlile Has Left Of Mice & Men

Austin Carlile Has Left Of Mice & Men

It is always incredibly difficult to announce the departure of a band mate, however it is even more difficult when that band mate is such an incredible person and they are leaving due to their health. For any who do not know, Austin Carlile, the lead singer from Of Mice & Men, suffers from a very rare disease known as Marfan Syndrome. Carlile has been open and honest about his health, but has continued to soldier on with the band through all of his pain and setbacks. However, things changed after the band had to cancel their European headlining tour and a team of specialists told Carlile that continuing to tour with the band could cause irreparable damage. With that, Carlile decided to step away from Of Mice & Men and allow the band to continue without him, You can view the band's official statement on their Facebook Page and Austin's public letter is posted below. Best of luck to both Of Mice & Men and Austin Carlile in the future, and here's to a new beginnings.

In Flames Pays Tribute to Lemmy

In Flames Pays Tribute to Lemmy

Yesterday marked one year since the passing of rock legend, and one of my heroes, Lemmy Kilmister. Well at a show in Gothenburg, Sweden, metal bands gathered to pay tribute to the former Motorhead mainman. Bands such as Hardcore Superstar, Troublemakers, Scumbag Millionaire, Honeymoon Disease, City Saints, Coffe & Snowy Shaw and Siphon Fuel took to the stage to play Ace of Spades in honor of Lemmy. There was one more member of this metal super group that night as Bjorn Gelotte of In Flames joined in the tribute as well. Check out the video below!

New Music from Layne Staley!

New Music from Layne Staley!

A new, incredibly rare recording of late Alice in Chains vocalist Layne Staley have appeared on ebay. The auction is for a six track, studio master recorded in 1988 prior to Staley joining Alice in Chains, The band on the recording is 40 Years of Hate and it is being auctioned off by former member Ron Holt. According to Holt, the songs were never fully recorded and exist in this physical copy in an unfinished state. Holt is only auctioning off the master and not the publishing rights, but he has also said that he will consider other offers for those as well. If you are interested in the auction you can find it HERE! As I'm writing this, the auction is sitting a little over $600, but Holt is selling the copy out right for $5,000, so you better move quick!
