Rob Zombie

"We just want to make a dark, heavy, weird record and stick to that idea," says Zombie. "If something comes up that isn't, we won't finish it. We'll stick to the plan. You may say that when you start recording. Then other songs start happening that don't really fit that and you go with it. This time, we're really going to stay on task."

The singer added that he’s excited to have ex-Marilyn Manson drummer Ginger Fish behind the drum kit as they prepare to hit the road with Megadeth. "He's a phenomenal drummer," notes Zombie. "His strong point is his groove playing, which is great. There are certain songs we've played for years that have never quite sounded right. A song like "More Human than Human" has a repetitive groove. If you don't really get the groove down, the song can be really monotonous to listen to and he nailed it."

has announced he'll begin recording his fifth studio album on June 1. In an interview, the singer reveals that he has a definite plan for how the record will sound.

SOUNDGARDEN entered singer Chris Cornell's studio in Los Angeles in March 2011 to begin recording the band's first album in 15 years.

Adam Kaspar, who co-produced SOUNDGARDEN's last record, 1996's "Down On The Upside", has been working with the group on the new effort as well.

When asked how he would compare SOUNDGARDEN's new material to the group's previous efforts, Cornell told Australia's rock station Triple M, "It sounds like SOUNDGARDEN, but I wouldn't say it's similar. I think there are parts of it that are gonna remind anybody of us, but we've always kind of progressed from album to album. So it's definitely not a throwback. It's not us getting back to our roots — it's not that — it's just kind of a natural progression, I think."

SOUNDGARDEN released a CD/DVD retrospective set in September 2010 called "Telephantasm", featuring singles, album cuts, live material and the previously unavailable "Black Rain", which has been nominated for a Grammy Award.

SOUNDGARDEN's first-ever official concert album, titled "Live On I5", sold 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 47 on The Billboard 200 chart. The set is compiled of live tracks from a 1996 West Coast tour by the band and is named after the Interstate 5. SOUNDGARDEN had intended to release the tapes of these shows as its first live album shortly after the tour, but the group ended up disbanding and the tapes were left in the studio, untouched for years.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iW0B1Hx92zo

The status of Slipknot.....????

Slipknot's Clown, aka M. Shawn Crahan did his best to explain where the band is at stating: "Everyone in the band is writing all the time. Whether it's a micro-cassette recorder or a memo on your iPhone or Corey writing random things he invents in his head on a piece of paper or Joey saying 'I got nothing to do, I'm gonna go in the studio with all these ideas. I'm going to rent out a studio for a month and a half and I'm going to f*cking write.' "I think what people don't understand about what's being said is that we're all dealing with Paul's death differently. Some want to move, some want to take time. But basically, what's being said is of course things are being written. But nothing is done because we're not together yet. And there is no reason to get together to talk about it because there are other things moving, like the grieving process. Really, what it all comes down to is that, yes, writing is being done seriously every day, but it is going to be a while. It's just going to be. There's things going on. It gets a little perverted in the press, almost like 'he says yes, he says no, we got a problem.' It's more like, yeah, writing is going on but it's going to be a while, and both of them are telling the truth, and I'm here to tell you, we're not going nowhere!"

"Revered guitarist Slash has released a new music video for the song ‘Gotten’ — which features Maroon 5′s Adam Levine on vocals — in the hopes of raising awareness and funds for the homeless youth of America.
Slash is showing that in addition to a big top hat, he also has a big heart. The soon-to-be Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee has partnered with the Los Angeles Youth Network (LAYN) by releasing a video for ‘Gotten’ — a song from his 2010 self-titled solo debut — that will raise funds for the charity.
“This video was created to make people take notice of the homeless teen epidemic which is rampant in L.A. as well as in the rest of the country,” explains Slash. “The story in this video is just one scenario amid millions of potential situations happening at any given time in Los Angeles alone. Everybody involved with the making of this video selflessly donated their time and talents to this cause. I thank them with all my heart.”
The LAYN is a nonprofit organization that provides aid to upwards of 10,000 homeless and runaway youths on a daily basis. “LAYN is extremely grateful to Slash, Astound Studios, GenAudio and the entire creative force that has come together to support the programs and services of LAYN for homeless and runaway youth often missed by so many systems and who have such limited options for support,” explains Mark Supper, Executive Director of the charity. “Your donation helps us prevent the potential harm these youth are vulnerable and at risk for, and assists us in keeping them from being exploited or victimized on the streets of Los Angeles.”
A special mix of the track and video are available for download here — the proceeds from which will benefit the Los Angeles Youth Network. The video features several recognizable faces including Slash himself, actors Judd Nelson, Clifton Collins Jr., and ‘True Blood’ star Kristen Bauer among others.
‘Apocalyptic Love,’ the follow-up to Slash’s debut solo effort will be released on May 22, and features Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators in place of the revolving cast of musicians on it’s predecessor.

The Gold-certified, Grammy-nominated rock band, are proud to announce that they have begun recording their fourth album for longtime label Roadrunner Records. With most of the new record already written, the band has headed into Sound Farm Studios just outside of their native Des Moines, Iowa with producer David Bottrill (Tool, Muse, Staind). The album is expected in the Fall of 2012, two years after the band’s most recent longplayer Audio Secrecy, which debuted at position No. 6 on the Billboard chart and No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes Rock Album chart.

"This album will be another progression for the band," stated guitarist Josh Rand. "Musically, we have always challenged one another to push things to our limits, and this record is no exception." Rand also shared some details about the album’s lyrical and storytelling narrative, saying, "Lyrically, the album follows one character to that complex moment in his life, when he finally has to decide which path to take. It’s a spiritual and moral power play for control of what this man will be for the rest of his life. Each song will tell the story from different sides of the character’s personality, with the listener ultimately deciding how the story ends."

To get fans excited for the next chapter of Stone Sour, Roadrunner will be giving away a digital copy of "The Pessimist," which appeared on the Transformers 3 soundtrack via iTunes. grab the song at www.stonesour.com

Soundgarden will be releasing a new single, "Live to Rise" which is also on the upcoming "The Avengers" soundtrack, available on iTunes on May 1st. In the meantime, the band has released a snippet of the single to YouTube that you can hear below.
