Backstory: Back in 2000, some college kids decided that the world needed cheaper music, so they started Napster. That was relatively cool with pretty much everyone. Except Metallica.
That's really all the backstory you need. There was a legal battle, things got ugly, but that was 16 years ago! Now here we are and pretty much everyone has let it go except, you guessed it, Metallica. Ok, not all of Metallica, just Lars Ulrich.
Ulrich was recently interviewed by Mojo and he got all spiced up again. He basically said, like he always has, that it was never about greed or money for Metallica, and just about control. He also said that there were other artists who supported them, but they were too scared to go public. He claims everyone except Dr. Dre was "too shit fucking scared and too much of a pussy to take a step forward."
It's hard to find a full version of the interview digitally, but you can catch the bulk of it HERE thanks to Blabbermouth. All in all, it just sounds to me like Lars Ulrich is desperately trying to make himself individually relevant again, which is weird, considering Metallica is about to drop what may be the biggest album in a decade. But here we are, arguing over whether or not he's really that greedy...
Martha and Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party premiers November 7th on VH1. The promotional trailer has been released and can be viewed below. With the right guests, this show COULD be interesting. I just hope Martha's criminal tendencies don't rub off on Snoop.
About a year ago, Ronnie James Dio's wife Wendy announced that Hear N Aid would reform with a new line up to reissue "Stars" for the anniversary of the original project. "That's Awesome!" said literally the entire metal community as we all sat patiently around the camp fire waiting for the fabled release. Well here we are, over a year later, still sitting patiently with no new music and nothing more than sore asses...
Well as of yesterday, we got a little bit more information. Wendy Dio informed the world that, yes, the reissue is still coming, but it won't be for the 30 year anniversary, and instead for the 32nd in 2018. This is due, according to Wendy, predominately to legal issues with a multitude of companies. Interestingly enough, this is the same thing that delayed the release of the original track for almost a year. You can read more about the old and new issues right over HERE.
Luckily, we still have the original single (video below) to jam out to as we wait for the revamped version. Either way, I'm still incredibly excited for the new release, which is slated to come along side a remastered version of the old single, and a new documentary about the first Hear N Aid journey. So here we sit, with sore asses that are only getting sorer, patiently waiting for what may be the greatest song in the last 30ish years...

There are some SURPRISINGLY good records here if you catch my drift, so add at least one to your collection today!!!
What can I say, it was a slow news day. So here's a really cool video from just over a year ago, in case you missed it the first time around! Also, credit given where credit is due, the band is called the Rockin' 1000 and they do this stuff all the time!
Ah yes. Yahoo! Answers. Where painfully stupid people go to ask the most ridiculous questions. If you haven't experienced the joys of this website before, this video does a great job of summarizing what you can expect to find. Toss in the lively commentary of J.T. Sexkik and you've got a viral video! I can almost guarantee this will make you laugh out loud while simultaneously thinking "OH MY GOD THESE PEOPLE HAVE CHILDREN!?"... Enjoy!
Title gotcha, didn't it? Well here it is, "Take Me" from Serenity of Suffering!
As it turns out, legendary Indiana basketball coach Bobby Knight might not have been the altruist he's made out to be. Pretty serious allegations are being made by a former player in a new book. Assaults, humiliation, and yes, testicle grabbing (and squeezing) were all allegedly part of his repertoire. The link has the story from Deadspin.
Yes you can watch Avenged Sevenfold live on October 27th on your phone! The band is playing a once-in-a-lifetime show that will stream live in 360-degree virtual reality! You can get details from the band HERE and even more specifics about the event HERE.
More importantly, it sounds like they will make some announcements on the much-expected new album during the show as well. The new album is rumored to be titled "Voltaic Oceans" and is also rumored to be released on December 9th. There hasn't been an official announcement about any of this, contrary to what you'll read on Wikipedia, but it does seem an awful lot like they'll talk about it at this show.
Every Tuesday we have our guy Jeremy Duff from Gamingnexus.com in studio for our video game segment called "Now Playing" brought to you by Mountain Dew Kickstart.
On today's edition of "Now Loading", Jeremy filled us in on the special Halloween theme event Niantic is doing for Pokemon Go. From October 26 to November 1, players will get double candies for catching and transferring Pokemon, as well as get 4x the candies for walking around with your buddy.
In addition to that, the frequency of ghost and psychic type Pokemon will increase and spawn more regularly.
With the hype for Pokemon Go dropping from close to 50 million in July, to around 30 million still playing currently, Niantic is hoping that this first of many events will begin to increase the number of players again.
You can catch Jeremy Duff with us every Tuesday morning at 6:30am or check out gamingnexus.com
Check out the event announcement video below.
Yeah, you saw that picture right. Mother lovin' Iron Maiden Lullaby album. And don't you think for one second that you're not going to hear some of those glorious sounds before you click off this page!
Now that my little rant is over, the details. The people over at Rockabye Baby! have done it again. If you haven't heard of Rockabye Baby! before, well please allow me to inform you. They are an unbelievably talented group who put together lullaby versions of everyone's favorite rock and metal songs. There newest album is set to drop on November fourth and it is, like the picture says, Iron Maiden covers! You can find the track listing for the album, and some more information right over HERE.
But I promised you a sample, so here it is! The best version of Run To The Hills to play your 2 year old!
Anna Wurtzburger of Hopewell Junction, NY is suing KFC for false advertising after she purchased a $20 bucket of chicken from the franchise this past summer. She says that KFC says that if will feed a whole family by showing a bucket of overflowing chicken but you get half a bucket and they're small pieces. She says that they should redo their commercials like the movie 'Oliver', showing a little orphan going up to the counter asking, 'Can I have some more?' She's seeking $20 million in damages. KFC is calling the lawsuit, "meritless."
