"We Did Everything In Our Power To Help And Couldn't Get Through To Him" say Joey Jordison's Bandmates In SINSAENUM

Sinsaenum

Joey Jordison passed away last week and SINSAENUM posted a heartfelt statement after the loss of their drummer and co-founder. Joey was only 46. The band released 3 EPs and 2 full-length records between 2016 and 2018 and Joey played on all of them. SINSAENUM plan to continue work on their new record, which they will dedicate to Jordison.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and brother Joey Jordison. He was of course one of the most influential drummers in the genre, completely rewriting the game of metal drumming, and it was truly an honor to share even just a small part of that with him. He brought something to the table that no other musician could, and his love and passion for music was unmatched in a world of jaded artists"

"For us Joey was family, and like family we argued and cried, but mostly laughed, and cared deeply for one another. His public image had a serious tone, with an evil exterior, yet he had the biggest heart, and we were lucky to be able to see the softer side of him. Joey also had his demons, and nothing hurts more than knowing that we did everything in our power to help and couldn't get through to him. He never felt he was better than anyone and would go out of this way to put everything, and everyone above his own needs"

"Our hearts go out to Amanda, to his family, and to the true friends that were checking in on him. And to all our fans and friends who reached out to us in this time of mourning, thank you."

"Considering everything; moving on will be difficult at first, especially since we had already started writing the new album, but we will persevere, and will honor his legacy in everything we do moving forward. This next record will be dedicated to the memory of him, as that's what Joey would have wanted. Hails, and Horns as Joey would say. We miss you Jsaenum, and will love you forever."

SINSAENUM is currently guitarists Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast) and Frédéric Leclercq (Amahiru, Kreator), bassist Heimoth (Seth), and vocalists Attila Csihar (Mayhem) and Sean Zatorsky (Dååth, ex-Chimaira). http://www.sinsaenum.com/

New Papa Roach! Check Out the Video for “Swerve”

"Check out our brand new song SWERVE (ft. Jason Aalon Butler from Fever333 & Sueco) from our forthcoming new album!" - Papa Roach

"This track came at the very end of the writing process for our upcoming album and truly feels like the culmination of years of experimenting with our sound coming back to a new version of Papa Roach. We're kicking off this new chapter of our careers with a next-level track and couldn't imagine doing it with anyone other than Jason and Sueco." - Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix

"This is one of the favorite songs I've ever made. Papa Roach has been an inspiration of mine since I was a kid, so working with them was super dope and a dream come true!" - Sueco

"I've said it before and I'll say it again- this band has somehow managed to be a legacy AND relevant all at once. So, naturally, when I got the call to hop on this track there was no question. With Sueco doing his thing the track's got 3 different vibes that all work together. This shit is different and that's exactly what rock needs. More DIFFERENT Shit. Thanks to these modern legends for making sure it happened." - Jason Aalon Butler

The genre-bending banger was produced by Colin "Doc" Brittain and Nick Furlong (All Time Low, A Day To Remember, Avicii), and features the saxophone stylings of co-collaborator Spencer Nezey, a singletrack showcasing Papa Roach's bravado at an all-time high.

Along with today's song release, Papa Roach have also announced that they have entered into a new global distribution and marketing services agreement with ADA Worldwide (WMG's independent label and artist services arm). In addition, Papa Roach have also reactivated their own label, "New Noize Records," a second incarnation of their early 2000's label enterprise.

Joey's family released an official statement earlier today (July 27th)

"We are heartbroken to share the news that Joey Jordison, prolific drummer, musician and artist passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26th, 2021. He was 46. Joey's death has left us with empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sorrow. To those that knew Joey, understood his quick wit, his gentle personality, giant heart and his love for all things family and music. The family of Joey have asked that friends, fans and media understandably respect our need for privacy and peace at this incredibly difficult time. The family will hold a private funeral service and asks the media and public to respect their wishes."

Jordison was a founding member of Slipknot and was with the band from its inception in 1995 until his departure in 2013. Of the nine members, he was regarded as "Number 1." He later revealed that he suffered from transverse myelitis, a neurological disease that limited his the ability to play the drums. Not only was he one of metal's premier drummers, he was a key songwriter in the group, responsible for co-writing some of Slipknot's best-known songs. Jordison went on to perform with Scar The Martyr, The Rejects, and Sinsaenum. While he was still in Slipknot, he also played guitar in the band Murderdolls.

Slipknot and the band's current members have honored late co-founding drummer Joey Jordison by blacking out their social media.
UPDATE: SLIPKNOT paid tribute to Joey..."Our hearts go out to Joey's family and loved ones at this time of tremendous loss. Joey Jordison's art, talent, and spirit could not be contained or be held back. Joey's impact on Slipknot, on our lives, and on the music that he loved, is incalculable. Without him there would be no us. We mourn his loss with the entire Slipknot family. We love you, Joey."  -SLIPKNOT (video below)
