Anyone Want a Free Dog?

The highlight of your workday is usually lunch, right? Imagine you're working from home and your sandwich is stolen by the most adorable sandwich thief there is. Our neighbor's Golden Retriever decided to seize the opportunity when dad stepped away from his laptop for a second. Got a text from dad saying "Anyone want a free dog? :P"

Corey Taylor Cancels North American Solo Tour Amid Mental & Physical Health Concerns

Corey Taylor has canceled his upcoming solo tour which was set to run February through March of this year, in support of his recent album, CMFT2. The tour featured Des Rocs & Jigsaw Youth. Taylor, who turned 50 last month, cites mental and physical health as the cause for the cancelation.

"It is with a heavy heart that I announce the cancellation of my upcoming North American tour. For the past several months my mental and physical health have been breaking down, and I reached a place that was unhealthy for my family and I. I know this decision will come as a shock to some and may be regarded as unpopular by others – but after taking a hard look at where I am and where I was going, I need to pull myself back and be home with my family for the time being. Those of you who bought tickets and VIP packages for this upcoming run will get a full refund.

I send my love to the fans, my band, my family & friends, and everyone who's helped me get here thus far. I promise I'm doing everything I can to be as healthy as I can be. Until then, my apologies to everyone we would have seen on the tour – and hopefully we'll see you again down the line."
- Corey Taylor

We here at The Blitz, wish Corey Good Health and Wellness. Better to recognize that you need a break...rather than to actually Break. We'll see you again down the line, Corey!

This includes KEMBA LIVE Feb 13, 2024. Full refunds at the Point of Purchase. As far as his appearance with Slipknot at Sonic Temple, I can only estimate that he cancelled his solo tour to get well and be better prepared for what is slated for Slipknot in the coming year.

Corey just completed European and North American tours. "CMF2" was released on September 15. This is his first album for BMG and the first on his own label imprint, Decibel Cooper Recordings. It was produced by Jay Ruston (ANTHRAX, STEEL PANTHER, AMON AMARTH), who also produced STONE SOUR's "Hydrograd" as well as "CMFT".

26 songs were recorded for became the 13 track "CMF2", in which Taylor sings, plays lead and rhythm guitar, piano, and mandolin throughout.
Taylor began tracking the follow-up to 2020's "CMFT" LP in early January at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada with Ruston. Joining Corey in the studio was the rest of his solo band — bassist Eliot Lorango, drummer Dustin Robert, along with guitarists Christian Martucci and Zach Throne.

Recently, Joey Jordison's estate declared it was suing Slipknot, alleging they were profiting off of Jordison's likeness without permission. The suit also alleges they used Jordison in marketing efforts to promote their latest album, The End, So Far.

Once Upon a Time, War Stopped for Xmas

In December of 1914, we were in the midst of World War I. The front lines and trenches were not the place that anyone would want to spend a holiday or any other day. This story has taken to some myth over the years. How it happened is dependent upon which story you've heard. Make no mistake, it did happen. For one night, all was calm and there was peace.

Some believe that a single solder climbed out of the trench and sang Silent Night. The soldiers on both sides joined in and when the song was over, they continued the business of war.  So what did happen? As the German soldiers lit their lanterns and displayed them on the edge of their trenches, carol singing broke out. Soon enough the British and French troops joined in. Christmas greetings and well wishes were exchanged, and offers of a temporary ceasefire were communicated between the trenches. There is rumor that a soccer match took place as well. It was a long time ago. The details are not exact, but there was an unlikely truce on the eve of Christmas 1914.

The cool thing was, normal men decided to do this. They stopped war. No politicians, no world leaders, and no hostility. Just normal dudes, who decided not to follow orders and just celebrate the holiday.
