Metallica's Kirk Hammett Slams Modern Pop

Metallica's Kirk Hammett is blasting modern pop music.  

The musician told The Irish Times that he worries about "the musicianship," as "things are so perfect these days." He said "it's great that all these guitar players have all this vast knowledge of technique at their fingertips," and "I hope it leads to a better quality of pop music and just a better quality of songwriting." He then said "Right now, songwriting and pop music is crap." 

In other Metallica news, the band donated over $26,000 to Cardiff Foodbank after performing in the Welsh city on June 28th as part of their current European tour.
