Pace yourself. If your first stop is a deep-fried cheesecake, pickle pizza, and birthday cake deviled eggs... you're probably not making it to the butter cow. Wednesday July 29th - Sunday August 9th
* Go early or go late. The crowds are much lighter before noon or after 6 p.m., especially on weekdays.
* Wear comfortable shoes. You'll easily rack up 15,000-20,000 steps.
* Bring a refillable water bottle. Staying hydrated will save you money and help beat the heat.
* Ride the SkyGlider first. It's the best way to get your bearings and gives you a great aerial view of the fairgrounds.
* Check the free entertainment schedule. Pig races, lumberjacks, live music, hypnotists, and animal shows are included with admission.
* Hit the Butter Cow early. It's one of the busiest attractions, but the building is now air-conditioned, making it a nice place to cool off.
* Don't just eat the famous foods. The Taste of Ohio area is a great place to try local Ohio-made products.
* Take advantage of deals. If you're going on a Thursday, look for "$3 Thursdays" and grab a coupon book to save on food and attractions.
* Use the free shuttle if your feet start giving out.
