Metallica Wants Your Blood… Again

IMG_5439

Metallica is once again asking its fans to do something pretty badass: give blood. 🤘🩸

The band is teaming up with the American Red Cross for the fifth time, this time around their upcoming Life Burns Faster residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

The Red Cross x Metallica Blood Donation Experience opens September 28 at Fashion Show Las Vegas and runs through March 19. Metallica kicks off its Sphere residency October 1.

And because this is Metallica, they're not exactly making this a boring trip to the blood bank.

The donation center will be loaded with Metallica memorabilia and artwork, plus a replica of the drum kit Lars Ulrich used on one of the band's tours. Donate blood and you'll score a limited-edition T-shirt designed by Squindo — and you'll automatically be entered for a chance to win that replica Lars drum kit.

Metallica fans have already donated more than 90,000 units of blood through the band's previous Red Cross campaigns over the past year and a half.

So yeah… Metallica wants your blood. But this time, they're actually going to a good cause with it.

Join Us, All Within My Hands, and the American Red Cross for an M72 Blood Drive. One Donation, One Tee, One Epic Cause!

As we get ready to head back out on the road, we're proud to announce that we've teamed up with All Within My Hands and the American Red Cross to contribute to each community the tour visits. Learn how you can participate in the Red Cross x Metallica Blood Drives at RedCrossBlood.org/Metallica.

AWMH will continue to hold volunteer events with local food banks, but on this leg of the tour, fans will also be able to give back by participating in blood drives at select M72 North American cities. At many of these stops, the drives will occur inside the venues while the road crew builds the stage! Everyone who comes to give blood at these drives will receive a limited-edition T-shirt, while supplies last.

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood, and the need for blood donations increases during the spring and summer months. By participating in these drives, the Metallica Family will help trauma victims, those facing cancer, new mothers, people living with sickle cell disease, and so many more. All blood types are needed, and almost anyone can donate blood! If you're 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds, and are in generally good health, you may be eligible to donate blood. For additional information and eligibility requirements, visit RedCrossBlood.org.

Sign up to donate today! Appointment space is limited, so visit RedCrossBlood.org/Metallica and be the hero of the day (we couldn't resist).

Live music and giving back – two incredible experiences that will go hand-in-hand this spring and summer, thanks to a new collaboration between Metallica and the American Red Cross.

Metallica and its foundation, All Within My Hands (AWMH), urges fans to give blood at select tour locations across the U.S. to help ensure hospital patients never have to wait for critical, lifesaving care.

All who come to give at these blood drives will get a limited-edition Red Cross X Metallica T-shirt, while supplies last.* By rolling up a sleeve to give, the Metallica family can help trauma victims, those facing cancer, new mothers, people living with sickle cell disease and so many more.

Don't wait; schedule your donation now!

All Within My Hands takes advantage of opportunities on the road to contribute to each community the tour visits. Donors will have the chance to keep hospital shelves stocked across the country by giving blood at the following locations, with several drives happening inside concert venues while the M72 crew builds the stage. METALLICA: Unfinished Doc Gets Road Tryout

Metallica are taking their unfinished documentary on the road with them this spring.

Metallica Saved My Life is a film from director Jonas Akerlund that "explores the world of Metallica through the lives of their fans -- including the bandmembers themselves -- who have supported each other through highs, lows, trials, and triumphs for over four decades."

The band adds that "It's not quite finished yet, but we can't wait for you to see it and let us know what you think." It will be shown in every tour market except Columbus, Ohio. Tickets are available at FathomEntertainment.com. Check out a trailer on YouTube.

Metallica's M72 tour resumes April 19th in Syracuse, New York.
