"I'm really, really excited. I mean, everything's just bigger this time. Everything sounds better. Everything's running better. Everything's running hot. Instead of where I came from, this is where I'm going. Musically, it's harder. It's faster, but there's still tons of stuff from the first album. So, there's elements of Slipknot. There's elements of Stone Sour. There's elements of 'CMFT.' There's elements of the stuff that I've been doing for years. Just, like, cover-wise or whatever. All the stuff that I've always wanted to do. We are just… we're doing that. Just cranking it up and it all sounds so fucking good, that I can't even describe to you how stoked I am to be starting on this. And today's the day. Today's the day. Today's the fucking one. Let's get going! I'm serious as a heart attack. Nobody is ready for what they're about to hear, for real. But first, we gotta record it." - Corey Taylor (via social vid)

Corey Taylor releasing 'CMFB…Sides' F/ covers, acoustic & live tracks. Hear “On The Dark Side” & "Lunatic Fringe"

asinmfosedikoodgy-y
Slipknot/Stone Sour vocalist/guitarist Corey Taylor will release his new 9 song EP called 'CMFB...Sides.' on February 25, loaded with killer covers, acoustic and live renditions of songs off of his 2020 debut solo album, CMFT.

The covers include (the previously released) Metallica's "Holier Than Thou," originally recorded for The Metallica Blacklist tribute album, as well as his take on songs by KISS, Dead Boys, Eddie Money and Red Rider.

Corey unveiled the cover of John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band's 1983 track "On The Dark Side" as his new solo single. That song appeared in the film 'Eddie And The Cruisers', which arrived the same year. (Eddie and the Cruisers is a seriously underrated flick, and the soundtrack is amazing) Additionally, check out his acoustic stripped back take on Red Rider's 1981 classic "Lunatic Fringe," to celebrate the release of his new "CMFB...Sides" EP.

Here's the CMFB...Sides track list:
"Holier Than Thou" (Metallica Cover)
"All This and More" (Dead Boys Cover)
"Kansas" (Acoustic)
"Shakin'" (Eddie Money Cover)
"Home/Zzyxz Rd" (Live)
"Lunatic Fringe" (Red Rider Cover)
"Got To Choose" (Kiss Cover)
"Halfway Down" (Acoustic)

MV5BNzg0NGM1OTctMTIwNi00OTJlLWE2NzktNjUxMmM4Zjg2NmMwXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNzY5MTkzMTQ._V1_

'Rucker', is the upcoming horror film that features Slipknot's Corey Taylor and his wife Alicia. (The synopsis reminds me a bit of the Series "Big Sky") Bobby C. King stars as 'Leif Rucker' in the film, while Taylor plays 'Taco Tuesday' and Alicia appears to play one of King's unfortunate victims. The film will be released on VOD on January 04th.

Here's a quick plot synopsis for the movie...
"For the past 30 years Rucker the trucker has devoted his life to traveling the road as a mass serial killer. When Rucker picks up unsuspecting Maggie, she makes him the subject of her trucker documentary. But her life takes a dangerous detour when Rucker recruits her to complete his masterpiece: A connect-the-dots roadmap portrait of his ex-wife comprised of the women he's killed who resemble her."

VIDEO UPDATE! Corey Taylor is "out of the woods" while battling coronavirus....Corey Taylor's video message brought tears to my eyes!

CMFTCV815

UPDATE! Corey Taylor is "out of the woods" while battling coronavirus. In a Twitter video Monday, the Slipknot frontman said while he's still testing positive, his fever and aches are gone. He said it shouldn't be too much longer before he tests negative. The Stone Sour frontman said he truly believes the vaccine helped him get better from the worst sickness he has ever experienced. Taylor said he "shutters" to think how bad he would have felt if he weren't vaccinated. He told his fans they should roll up their sleeves and get the jab.

-------------------------------------------

Corey Taylor tested positive for Covid, is very sick and is crushed that he has had to scrap his planned appearance at this weekend's 'Astronomicon 4' convention in Ann Arbor, MI. Corey had previously been fully vaccinated and just wrapped up the second leg of his solo tour (August 19th) in Denver, CO. He was one of the first established artists to take to the road amid the COVID-19 pandemic. For that first leg of the trek he implemented a blanket safety policy that imposed specific safety protocols throughout the tour regardless of local and state guidelines. Well wishes Ass Kicker!

He shared this video message via the event's Facebook page...
"I wish I had better news. I woke up today and tested positive, and I'm very, very sick. So I'm not gonna be able to make it this weekend. And I am absolutely devastated. I am so sorry. I hope everyone has a good time, and I promise you I will absolutely try to get back there as soon as I can. I should be okay — it's the flu. I'm vaccinated, so I'm not worried. But I certainly wouldn't want to spread it to anyone else. So, everybody be safe out there. And thank you so much. And I will see you again, I promise."
