Ghost may be planning to kill off their current frontman Papa Emeritus IV later this year.

The latest installment of their video series, titled "Chapter 16: Tax Season," used imagery like a coffin and a video game's "game over" screen to suggest it may be the end for Tobias Forge's on-stage alter ego.

NME suggests the death of the character may signal the end of the band's "Impera" era, which began last March.

Ghost has won its first-ever American Music Award in the newly debuted Favorite Rock Album category. IMPERA edged out competition from Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Machine Gun Kelly and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to win the vote.

The categories were fan-voted, with the awards ceremony having been held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA.

Featuring "Call Me Little Sunshine" recently nominated for a Best Metal Performance GRAMMY and "Hunter's Moon" the end credits song from "Halloween Kills" as well as the currently climbing "Spillways," IMPERA was released March 11, 2022. IMPERA was produced by Klas Shlund and mixed by Andy Wallace. IMPERA - unmistakably, quintessentially Ghost.
