ASKING ALEXANDRIA RELEASE NEW TRACK & MUSIC VIDEO FOR “DARK VOID”

ASKING ALEXANDRIA shared "Dark Void," the first preview of music from their as-yet-untitled full-length studio album due this fall via Better Noise Music. "Dark Void" presents contrasting themes of melancholy and aspiration of day-to-day life in the modern world.

"With the world seemingly getting darker and darker, it's easy to see why so many of us struggle with anxiety, depression & loneliness. This song is about fighting those demons that live in your head and trying your hardest to be your own savior. Finding that inner strength to pull yourself out of the darkness."

"This theme is explored throughout the entirety of our upcoming album. We all have our own struggles and hurdles. We are all on our own journeys that present unique challenges and difficulties, but we all have our own inner strength to fall back on. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. I feel that there can be comfort in knowing that we aren't alone. We all feel a little down from time to time. We all feel a little lost from time to time, but somehow, in some way, we are all in this together and hopefully our new album can help people through some of their toughest times."

- guitarist BEN BRUCE

Band Raided Inkcarceration Parking Lot...And Got Added To The Festival - Silly Goose

unnamed-1

Late last Saturday night (July 16) at Inkcarceration, the band Silly Goose drove to Ohio from Atlanta and set up a guerilla style impromptu performance in a parking lot on the back of their modified flat bed truck and trailer. (Photo Credit: Kate Kastelic)

Danny Wimmer proceeded to the parking lot to see what was happening. Initially frustrated by the unauthorized show, Wimmer was so impressed by the band's perseverance and talent--and immediate fan response--that he offered him a spot to open the Inkcarceration 3rd stage the next day.

Ultimately, that performance was canceled due to a delayed festival start time because of severe weather in the area, but the band was given a last minute performance slot later in the day to close out the 3rd stage which drew hundreds of fans.

Wimmer was so impressed by the band's hard work, dedication and talent that he also invited them to join him for an interview on the DWPresents on Twitch channel. During the interview, Wimmer offered the band a demo deal with his label Alchemy Recordings and he invited them to play at DWP's Louder Than Life festival in Louisville this September.

Silly Goose is known for taking matters into their own hands to get their music out to fans. Their guerrilla style performances have been held on the street, in restaurants like McDonald's, and in other festival parking lots, and sometimes get the band into trouble, but they continue to push forward to get their music out to new fans.

Seether singer Shaun Morgan talks about their new song "Leech" -
"This song is a generalized reflection on abusive relationships and how they shape the way we see the world. Those are most often personal, but more often these days they are social. There is so much digital noise surrounding us all that we choose to ignore, at the peril of our kids and our collective wellbeing. We are slaves to smart phones and the absolute cancer that is social media, and it will not end well. Different viewpoints that stray from the echo chambers that people choose to live in result in public crucifixion and irrational hatred that is driven by a powerful propaganda force that spoon feeds our opinions to us. Turn off the fucking TV, delete your social media and read a goddamn book or spend some time with your neighbors. We need to stop living in this procured vapid digital universe where we are merely products to enrich assholes and live more in the real world. I say that as an introvert, but even I can see the impending downfall of decency and morality."
