I caught up with Zakk Wylde - the riff-slinging mastermind behind Black Label Society, "Ozzy's Song"…the guy brews a serious pot of coffee.

Ronni-with-Zakk-Wylde-1

We talked life, loyalty, and what it really takes to survive in the music industry. Zakk keeps it simple: play what you love and go all in. No shortcuts, no chasing trends — just grind. He opens up about the challenges young musicians face today, and how different things are compared to the early days with Ozzy Osbourne and that era of rock.

We also got into Black Label Society's latest, Engines of Demolition, plus the story behind Ozzy's tribute song honoring the late Prince of Darkness — a full-circle moment from a career built on brotherhood and riffs.

And that brotherhood? The Black Label Society "chapter" — the family — came from humble beginnings and still reflects the neighborhood roots Zakk came up in.

Check out the full conversation and more right here.

Catch Zakk live at Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival — he's pulling double duty with Zakk Sabbath on Friday night and Black Label Society on Sunday afternoon.

Chelsea Handler Just Ruined Every Other Interview for me...and She's Coming to Columbus

Tess-with-Chelsea-Handler

I can die happy now. Chelsea Handler took a few minutes to talk with me and I'm still coming down from it.

In her latest book I'll Have What She's Having, there's a story about how every woman who's ever slept in her bed, gets their period.

...in case you were wondering what that part of the interview was about.

I won't bore you with my own history with Chelsea (she has no idea we've been best friends in my head for years), but after talking with her, I'm convinced the whole "don't meet your heroes" thing is a lie.

We talked about everything from microdosing, her love for her fans, her nugget Doug, her travel shenanigans, her podcast, and what you can expect on her "High & Mighty Tour".

She's hilarious, sharp as ever, ridiculously honest, and somehow still warm in a way that makes you feel like you're hanging out with a good friend.

Chelsea is coming to the Palace Theatre on March 14th, and tickets are on sale at chelseahandler.com.

I'll be there, probably high.

99.7 The Blitz Welcomes Creed, Mammoth and Daughtry to Schottenstein Center Sunday, July 20! The Show Is SOLD OUT,

* Mammoth have also taken the opportunity to announce a fall U.S. headlining tour with Myles Kennedy as direct support. That trek will launch on Halloween with a stop in Columbus on 11/20 at Kemba Live!

Mammoth (formerly known as Mammoth WVH) pulled out all the stops for the music video for their new single, "The End". Director Robert Rodriguez ('Sin City', 'Desperado') was hired on to oversee this clip, which features a big nod to the latter's classic 1996 vampire film 'From Dusk Till Dawn', as well as tip of the hat to Michael Jackson's landmark video for 'Thriller'. Helping to realize this vision, Greg Nicotero ('The Walking Dead', 'Fallout') handled the various special makeup effects.

The video is also littered with cameos, including actor Danny Trejo, Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash and Wolfgang's own mother Valerie Bertinelli. Speaking of the song, Wolfgang offered:

"I've had the tapping idea on the intro for 'The End' since before Mammoth. I was able to fit it into this world. It's still over-the-top and shreddy, but it's also melodic and controlled. Overall, I was doing some different things on the record, and I knew this was going to be a big step. Once we finished 'The End,' it felt really special to me."

BADFLOWER shares New Song with some funny in the middle!

BadflowerDetroitPic-1
Badlfower have shared another track from 'No Place Like Home' -- and it has an interlude in the middle that is funny, and a bit inside music industry.

The track is called "Snuff" and two minutes and eight seconds into the song a voice comes on and says, "In this part of the song Badflower intended to insert a short sample of a popular song from the 1990s. But they were unable to get in touch with the copyright holder. So rather than to risk litigation they decided to remove the sample and insert this instead."

Check out "Snuff" and our Sonic Temple Interview with Josh Katz below! "No Place Like Home" is due out June 20th.

(Note -- this song has multiple F-bombs in it so it is not safe for air.)
