"I'm really, really excited. I mean, everything's just bigger this time. Everything sounds better. Everything's running better. Everything's running hot. Instead of where I came from, this is where I'm going. Musically, it's harder. It's faster, but there's still tons of stuff from the first album. So, there's elements of Slipknot. There's elements of Stone Sour. There's elements of 'CMFT.' There's elements of the stuff that I've been doing for years. Just, like, cover-wise or whatever. All the stuff that I've always wanted to do. We are just… we're doing that. Just cranking it up and it all sounds so fucking good, that I can't even describe to you how stoked I am to be starting on this. And today's the day. Today's the day. Today's the fucking one. Let's get going! I'm serious as a heart attack. Nobody is ready for what they're about to hear, for real. But first, we gotta record it." - Corey Taylor (via social vid)

Avatar enlisted Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale On New Track “Violence No Matter What” (lyric video here)

hsaycuc

"'Violence No Matter What' is about one thing and one thing only. It's ok to debate and fight and to think differently. But there is a limit, and the line must be drawn at authority held with violence, a world view that cannot survive without enemies, a promised return to a fabricated former glory." - Avatar vocalist Johannes Eckerström

"'Violence No Matter What' was such an inspiring piece to be a part of! Thank you so much to the boys for giving me the opportunity to express my angst against the horrors of this world through such a brilliant song!" - Lzzy Hale

Avatar's new album "Dance Devil Dance" will be unleashed on February 17th. Don't miss them at Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival at Historic Crew Stadium on Saturday May 27th.

Greta Van Fleet are Finishing Up Their New Album

gvf
If you've been waiting on a new Greta Van Fleet album, you won't have much longer to wait. Greta Van Fleet says they are wrapping up work on their third full-length studio album, as we speak. Their last album "The Battle At Garden's Gate" came out on April 16th, 2021. Members of the band were asked about the progress of the new effort on the "black carpet" at Metallica's 'The Helping Hands Concert & Auction' in Los Angeles that happened on December 16th.

Drummer Danny "We are wrapping it up as we speak. It's nearing completion, and we're very excited about it"

Bassist Sam Kiszka "It's conceptually going back to almost the days in the garage, with the raw energy of the sound. But expanding on that, because we're the best musicians we've ever been."

Pearl Jam Working On A New Album

DannyClinch
Pearl Jam have begun writing and recording their 12th studio album. "Gigaton" was their last effort that came out in 2020. The new effort isn't expected to arrive in 2023 in a recent interview The band's guitarist/vocalist Stone Gossard had this to say about their progress...

"The plan is that we're gonna do some more recording, and we're gonna try to finish a record here pretty soon. There's songs that are getting close to being done and there's a bunch that aren't. And we're gonna do something here pretty soon. We've got demos for days. Everybody writes in the band, so now it's really just trying to figure out what's something different for us and what's something exciting. And we're working on that. I think we've got a good start on another record that will be hopefully good. I bet it's gonna be 2024 before the record comes out, is my guess. But we're working on it."

Metallica gobsmacked us w/ the Release of New Song "Lux AEterna", Album and Tour Details

image00_20221128-235058_1

Metallica's 12th Full-Length Album '72 Seasons' Drops Friday, April 14th, 2023 – their first studio album since the Platinum-selling Hardwired…to Self-Destruct! "Lux Æterna" is the lead single (masterful video below)

Metallica has confirmed the title and release date of its forthcoming 12th studio album: 72 Seasons will be available April 14, 2023 via the band's own Blackened Recordings. Produced by Greg Fidelman with Hetfield & Ulrich, and clocking in at over 77 minutes, the 12-track 72 Seasons is Metallica's first full length collection of new material since 2016's Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. The album will be released in formats including 2LP 140g black vinyl and limited edition variants, CD and digital—for a full listing of configurations, pre-orders and further information, go to metallica.com/72-seasons-info.

72 Seasons is heralded by first single "Lux Æterna," a short, sharp blast that distills 40 years of Metallica into three and a half minutes. "Lux Æterna" is available now to stream and download, and as an instant grat track with all pre-orders of 72 Seasons. To watch the "Lux Æterna" video, directed by Tim Saccenti, go here.

Speaking on the concept of the album title, James Hetfield said: "72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that we were told 'who we are' by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is reenactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry."

Today also marks the announcement of every Metallica show booked through 2023 and 2024: Presented worldwide by Liquid Death and Blackened American Whiskey (in North America only) and promoted by Live Nation, Metallica's M72 world tour will see the band playing two nights in every city it visits—with each No Repeat Weekend featuring two completely different setlists and support lineups. The M72 tour will feature a bold new in-the-round stage design that relocates the famed Metallica Snake Pit to center stage, as well as the I Disappear full-tour pass and the debut of discounted tickets for fans under 16 years of age. Two-day tickets will be on sale Friday, December 2nd at ticketmaster.com and will include the option of pre-ordering 72 Seasons vinyl and/or CD. Single day tickets will be available beginning January 20th. For further information including fan club presales, enhanced experiences and more, go to metallica.com/m72-info.

A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to the band's All Within My Hands foundation. Founded in 2017, AWMH's efforts to assist and enrich the lives of members of the communities who have supported the band have raised nearly $13 million – providing $5.9 million in grants to career and technical education programs in the US, over $2.5 million to combat food insecurity, and more than $3.2 million to disaster relief efforts worldwide.

"Lux Æterna" Lyrics

Anticipation

In domination

A sea of hearts beat as one, unified

Magnification

All generations

Approaching thunder awaiting the light

Full speed or nothing

Full speed or nothing

Lux Æterna

Lux Æterna

Exhilaration

Frenzied sensation

Kindred alliance connected inside

Commiseration

Sonic salvation

Cast out the demons that strangle your life

Full speed or nothing

Full speed or nothing

Lux Æterna

Lux Æterna

Lux Æterna

Emancipation

Kill isolation

Never alone for the feelings alike

Amplification

Lightning the nation

Never alive more

Than right here tonight

Full speed or nothing

Full speed or nothing

Lux Æterna

Lux Æterna

Light it
