Former FFDP Jason Hook launches new band 'Flat Black' with 2 beasty songs & FFDP Cover (video)

fb2023

FLAT BLACK's offerings include "It's Your Lack of Respect" and "Halo." Both will appear on the upcoming debut 'Flat Black' album, title and release date TBA. Joining Hook in this newly launched band are vocalist Wes Horton, bassist Nick Diltz and drummer Rob Pierce.

Jason Hook offers his thoughts on each of the 2 news songs...
"I didn't want to play it safe with the first release. Sure, there are other songs on the album that are more geared towards radio, but to me, 'It's Your Lack of Respect' makes a statement. It's unapologetically defiant, which is how I feel as a songwriter and we feel as band in today's seemingly homogenized rock landscape."

"I love 'Halo' because the song sets a dark, sinister mood. Its charm is all about the contrast between the piano part and the guitar riff, not to mention the big chorus and guitar solo — to me, that's the Flat Black sound."

Asking Alexandria unleash video for 'Where Do We Go from Here?' track "Let Go"

unname_20230826-202623_1
Asking Alexandria's 8th new album Where Do We Go from Here? has arrived, and with it comes a video for the song "Let Go." It also includes "Psycho" "Dark Void" and "Bad Blood" and marks the return of Danny Worsnop's trademark growl-scream!

"'Let Go' is one of my favorite songs we've ever written. It's a powerful anthem about finding your own peace within yourself and being able to walk away and 'let go' of a past relationship. Life has hurdles for us all to jump over. It's how we grow and how we learn and become stronger, and this song is about leaping over one of those hurdles we all face." - guitarist Ben Bruce

Asking Alexandria will hit the road in support of Where Do We Go from Here? on the Psycho Thunder tour alongside The Hu which also feature Bad Wolves and Zero 9:36.

That tour and will roll into Cleveland, OH on 9/19 for TempleLive. They're partnering with a food bank in each of the cities featured on the trek. The bands involved are requesting that fans attending the shows bring a non-perishable food item to donate which will be collected at identified locations at each venue.

BAD WOLVES Announce Details on 4th Album ‘DIE ABOUT IT’ and watch the Video for "Legends Never Die"

unnamed
Bad Wolves will release their fourth album, Die About It, on November 3rd. It's the group's second album with vocalist Daniel "DL" Laskiewicz, who co-produced the album with drummer John Boecklin. The band has also shared a follow-up to the first single "Bad Friend." Check out the video for "Legends Never Die"

"We definitely challenged ourselves to experiment, but we maintained a heavier edge. We spent a lot of time making sure these songs weren't all the same, which was important to us. We tried to push the possibilities of what you can do with heavy music. This is as fresh of a start as you can get on your fourth album." - drummer John Boecklin

"Nobody is against any idea in the studio. That's the most beautiful thing about this. There's no limitations. We went to the far ends of the really soft and the extreme. We made it a point to separate ourselves from the past and make this our own. We wanted to write a song for our heroes, whether that's our children, mothers, fathers or the likes of, sending their stories into eternity, forever igniting spirits and imaginations of those who follow. With every retelling, their legacies resonate forever. This song reminds us that true greatness can never be extinguished. Legends NEVER die." - Singer DL

Daughtry have released a post-apocalyptic video for their new gritty single "Artificial." Watch it now.

Daughtry-press-photo
"'Artificial' is about the potential nightmare that AI could become and the idea that everything and everyone could eventually be replaced, essentially to perfection, and rendered obsolete," Daughtry explains. "However, the heart and soul of humanity and the ability to feel love, sadness, and compassion can never be replaced. While there are plenty of applications where AI can improve our lives and assist in many areas of creativity, I feel it's imperative that we find a way to protect our musicians, actors, writers, and all creative outlets from being destroyed."

The track follows "It's Not Over" "Heavy Is the Crown" "World on Fire" and "Changes Are Coming" from their 2021 album 'Dearly Beloved'. In 2023 Daughtry released a cover of Journey's "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" alongside Halestorm's Lzzy Hale.
