"Distance" is the first song from Wolfgang Van Halen's debut solo album. The track was one of Eddie's favorites and that's why Wolfgang released it first. The debut album from 'Mammoth WVH' will be released next year. It was put on hold so that Wolfgang could help his father after his cancer had returned.
"As my pop continued to struggle with various health issues, I was imagining what my life would be like without him and how terribly I'd miss him. While the song is incredibly personal, I think anyone can relate to the idea of having a profound loss in their life. The song 'Distance' is an open letter to my father. I never intended 'Distance' to be the very first piece of music people would hear from me, but I also thought my father would be here to celebrate its release. This is for him. I love and miss you, Pop."Wolfgang also stated that his new album will not feature any guest musicians.
